I am delighted to announce that Professor Ernie Sosa will be delivering the keynote address of the 2nd Annual Online Philosophy Conference (OPC2) at Georgia State University. His lecture, "Epistemic Normativity," will be held in the Troy Moore Library (10th floor of General Classroom Bldg.) at 4:00pm on Friday, April 6th. The lecture and the ensuing discussion will be videotaped and posted on the website for OPC2, where people can view it as well as participate in the online discussion thread, beginning with commentaries on Sosa's paper by Ram Neta and Duncan Pritchard. The conference will also include one other videotaped keynote lecture (Jeff McMahan) and about a dozen papers by respected philosophers, each followed by two commentaries.
We are very fortunate to have Professor Sosa speak at Georgia State, and you should make every effort to attend his talk. Professor Sosa, a distinguished professor at Brown University and Rutgers University, is one of the world's leading figures in epistemology, having authored over 100 articles and the forthcoming two volume book, Apt Belief and Reflective Knowledge. He is editor of the journals Nous and Philosophy and Phenomenological Research and past President of the American Philosophical Association.
I hope you will be able to join us at this event and play a part in kicking off the Online Philosophy Conference.
