This academic year, the Mississippi Philosophical Association will meet in November
, rather than in the spring. The conference theme is Medical Ethics
, but papers from any area of philosophy will be considered. We will offer awards of $250 each for the two strongest papers by students (undergraduate or graduate)
, as well as $100 travel grants for each presenter coming from out of town (except for student award winners).

Papers submitted for the conference should be prepared for blind review
, with no identifying markings in the text of the paper. We are only accepting emailed submissions. In the subject line of your emails about the conference
, please type MPA. In the text of your email
, please include the name of your paper, an approximate word count
, and if interested, your eligibility and request to be considered for the graduate student awards (Reminder: all traveling presenters will be offered the travel grants
, except the student award winners). Papers should be no longer than 3
,000 words.
